Tasting Note

German Dessert Wine - Kessler-Zink Ortega Trockenbeerenauslese 2011

A superior Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) made from individually selected German Ortega shrivelled with noble rot, i.e. "botrytized" grapes. Intense sweetness and rich flavor, with a lot of caramel and honey bouquet, rock fruits note such as apricot and distinctive aroma of the noble rot. A rich, balanced and complicated dessert wine.

Classification:
Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA), Prädikatswein

Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA), Prädikatswein is the top level of German wine classification system. Trockenbeerenauslese (TBA) are rare and expensive due to the labor-intensive method of production, and the fact that very specific climatic conditions (which do not necessarily occur every year) are required to create botrytized grapes. Some of the best wines of this type are sold almost exclusively at the various German wine auctions.
